The Litz Mansion

We rented the Litz Mansion for a small family reunion of 21 people for a weekend. It was perfect. This is an incredibly beautiful, well-appointed building and grounds, close to downtown. We also rented the carriage house, and it was great, as well. Now, not every room has its own private bathroom. But, the bedrooms are top-notch. It is difficult to imagine renting a single room in the mansion...it would be weird to have strangers sharing the main floor, but that's just my personal preference. But, for a larger group, the Litz Mansion is ideal.

This is a beautiful, classic mansion. There are ten bedrooms, multiple full bathrooms, a large living or gathering room, and much more. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Visited this beautiful antebellum Mansion which has been converted to a hotel in Tazwell Virginia to view the holiday decorations. It was well worth the drive from Richlands Virginia. The staff was so friendly and made you feel welcome the minute you opened the front door. I was overwhelmed by the interior beauty. I cannot speak about staying at the mansion but if the staff and physical beauty of the property is any indication of what your stay would be like, it would be a treat to stay there.

Beautiful, comfortable, historic home in a charming, walkable neighborhood. Easy walking distance to downtown attractions, food, shopping, and back of the dragon. Staff was very hospitable and made our group feel at home. We had great weather but there looked to be plenty of games and other diversions to keep a group entertained in the home on a rainy day. Would definitely recommend.

Cannot speak highly enough about the Litz Mansion or its management. We held our wedding here, and the experience could not have been better. First off, the mansion is beautiful. Very picturesque, and a great spot to host an event. Our wedding was held in November and mainly inside. We felt like we had plenty of room with the 35ish attendees we had. The kitchen space worked well with our catering, and the owner was kind enough to move out furniture before our arrival. We had a decent chunk of our guests stay onsite as well which made the entire event special. If we had to do it again, we’d go with the Litz Mansion. I also would be remiss if I didn’t mention Scott and the staff at the Litz Management for all the assistance they gave us. Planning a wedding can be extremely stressful at times and they went above and beyond in accommodating any requests we had and working with us and our vendors. It’s nice not having to worry about your venue because you know how accommodating and well run they are. Highly recommend the Litz Mansion, for if you are just visiting, or hosting an event. Thank you again for making our wedding so special.

First time I stayed here the Back of the Dragon Welcome Center invited me to stay here. Never heard of it until then. I loved that first trip so much I decided to stay here again. It’s just as good as the first time! The house is beautiful and in fantastic condition for its age. Very roomy with beautiful furniture and decor throughout. Booking is easy and Scott stays on top of everything. Overall, would highly recommend.

We celebrated Thanksgiving with friends at the Litz mansion. For our party of 13... There was plenty of space....could have easily accommodated 20 or more. There are 10 bedrooms...so really no lack of space. For groups with children, the cutest room in the house has 4 bunk beds and is sure to bring smiles to the little ones. There is a fire pit and we were able to enjoy that on a very chilly evening. The neighbouring area is very scenic and enjoyable for after dinner walks. The general arra around Tazewell is also beautiful with areas for scenic hikes. The dining areas is huge and tables can be separate for different families or can be all in one group. This provided the perfect setup for our Thanksgiving dinner. Some areas of improvement....the refrigerator could be upgraded....and a second refrigerator would be really useful.if there is a large group of 20 plus people. We also missed having a hot tub. The door entry codes were supposed to be activated at 3. With Thanksgiving day and no traffic and no restaurants open...we reached the house at 2:30. We were planning to call the helpline but we're related to find that the codes worked and let us in. A small thing.. it a great start to our vacation. Would surely recommend this place to big groups of family/friends.

We had a great overnight stay. Scott was very accommodating to rent us room 1, 2, & 3 as we were 3 couples traveling through on our motorcycles. We only had to share the one bathroom on the main floor between two of the couples and didn’t have any issues.
